SUWANEE, Ga. - Aug. 9, 2019 - PRLog -- Eight-year old Patrick Ashley, from the Suwanee Ward (Congregation) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was awarded the Grand Prize for solving Brain Chase's Summer 2019 online mystery treasure hunt for The Mask of Tomoe Gozen on Wednesday, 7/31/19.

The Brain Chase 2019 treasure hunt challenge is an online learning program designed to provide a comprehensive solution to academic enrichment outside of the classroom. It combines weekly grade-appropriate reading, writing, math, and other academic lessons with an online search for a Treasure buried somewhere in the world.

Eligible contest entrants like Patrick compete for Prizes – especially a Grand Prize - by completing the weekly lessons and bonus challenges in order to unlock animated episodes of a web series containing clues. The clues are the key to correctly identifying the location of the real buried Treasure: The Mask of Tomoe Gozen, which Patrick successfully deciphered to have been buried in Limerick, Ireland.

The 2019 Brain Chase Summer Challenge began at 9 AM EDT on 6/30/19. It was scheduled to end at 11:59 PM EDT on 7/19/19, or when the Treasure is located, whichever comes later.

Patrick solved the mystery challenge on July 3rd. He won the Grand Prize of $5,000 scholarship money, plus an all-expenses paid trip to Ireland this coming Spring, paid for by contest sponsors: Brain Chase Productions, LLC of Austin, TX. There were 5 other contest winners who won $1000 in scholarship money.

When asked how he feels about this windfall, Patrick says, "I'm so excited to go to Ireland!" He continues, "Finding the clues and trying to figure out where the treasure was buried was really hard! Thankfully, our family worked together to solve it."

Patrick's Mom, Alison also states, "Brain Chase provides a fantastic way to keep kids' brains active during the summer and a fun way to unify our family." Interestingly she adds, "After hunting through our own ancestry, we discovered that one of his 4th great grandmothers on his dad's side were from Limerick - and that on my side, he descends from 29 generations of Irish royalty, dating back to at least 20 A.D. What a remarkable coincidence!"

Patrick is a 4th grader at Level Creek Elementary School. He enjoys playing soccer, math, and studying animals and nature. Patrick was recently baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (https://www.ChurchofJesusChrist.org) on Saturday, 6/15/19 in Suwanee, GA.
