By: Harvard Law School Morgan Franklin has been appointed to the role of Clinical Fellow at HNMCP, where she will work closely supervising the student groups HLS Negotiators and the Harvard Negotiation Law Review. She will also assist the Director on course preparation and special projects. Morgan's interest in dispute resolution and negotiation stems from an interest in cognitive and behavioral science paired with her belief in dispute resolution theory's importance in addressing seemingly intractable societal challenges. Since her involvement with HNMCP's instruction as a law student she's been able to experience how transformative gaining the skill set taught by the clinic can be, both professionally and personally. While studying at HLS she was fortunate to take classes related to problem solving and dispute resolution in various contexts, from administrative organizations to direct services. After law school Morgan completed a fellowship in Baltimore that focused on health policy at the local level and most recently worked in Washington, D.C. on a team that sought to aid the path to effective reentry for the recently incarcerated by convening groups with divergent views and facilitating dialogue between them to identify workable policy solutions. "I am so pleased to join the brilliant, kind and thoughtful team at HNMCP. It is clear that those within the clinic seek to create a welcoming space for students to learn valuable theory, engage in practical application of learned concepts and evaluate the nuances of human behavior in concert with the contours of the law. I am grateful for the opportunity to join them in this work." Morgan holds a B.A. in Political Economy, magna cum laude, from Tulane University and received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2017. She is a member of the Maryland Bar. "Morgan embodies what we teach in a truly inspiring way. Her particular combination of wisdom, warmth, and talent will make her an amazing Clinical Fellow and the perfect guide for the students she supervises. In a testament to her insight and skill, she will be our first Clinical Fellow to also teach the Negotiation Workshop. We are deeply grateful to have Morgan on the HNMCP team," said HNMCP Director Rachel Viscomi. The Harvard Negotiation & Mediation Clinical Program (http://www.law.harvard.edu/ End
