Upward African Woman Presents It's 3rd Annual Black Tie Charity Gala Celebrating Hope

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Oct. 1, 2019 - PRLog -- Upward African Woman will host its 3rdAnnual Black Tie Gala "Providing Pathways to Success" benefitting women and children through their educational and childcare programs both in the USA and Africa. The event hosted by actress Nathalie Beasnael will take place Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the beautiful Temple Emmanuel located at 8844 Burton Way, Beverly Hills, and CA. from 3p.m. to 6p.m. There will also be a special guest performance by recording artist Chante Moore.

The much-anticipated event will open with an exciting red carpet, cocktail reception and silent auction.  Guests will then enter the ballroom where they will enjoy a three-course meal featuring traditional African cuisines from Ethiopia, Nigeria and Kenya followed by an awards ceremony where scholarships will be awarded to 10 girls in Accra, Ghana, 7 children in Makoko, Nigeria and 50 children for education and feeding in Mombasa, Kenya. Many celebs and city officials are expected to attend including the Mayor of Calabasas and other community leaders are scheduled to attend.

Past supporters and participants include: Lili Bosse, two-term Mayor of Beverly Hills; Laila Ali, athlete and philanthropist; Mr. Maurice Nakatari, Consulate General of Kenya; Dr. Eve Allen, Holistic Medicine practitioner and wife of former NBA All-Star Lucius Allen; former NBA All-Star Caron Butler, author and former president of the World Boxing Federation, Alan Santana (recently inducted into the hall of fame); and Actress Tammy Townsend, Shondrella Avery to name a few. Guests will come together to support schools in Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana.

About Upward African Woman (UAW)

The California based 501c3 organization was founded in 2014 by Princess Monalisa Okojie with the goal of establishing and supporting sustainable programs to tackle poverty, illiteracy, disease, and hopelessness in order to improve the general well being of the African woman and child in both African and the United States. Since its inception, UAW has provided services for more than 1500women and children and show no sign of slowing down.  These recipients are primarily the victims of cultural, mental, sexual, physical abuse and neglect.

The organization's founder Monalisa Okojie is a lawyer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Members of the organization, Aineahko Ojior, Mary Mungai, Uche Nwude, Norma Dalke, Seye Tezfazgy and Mesi Usiade are also professional women with expertise in the areas of law, technology, medicine, entertainment and finance.
