By: Bible Belt Blues Since January of 2019 the Vondensteins have released two albums, "I'm Not Ashamed to Be a Christian" and "My God, My God." In March of 2019 Bible Belt Blues was taken into the Bill and Kat Radio's Cross 104 Gospel Blues Hour Syndicated Program. Eleven of their Bible Belt Blues songs have already received radio airplay resulting in numerous placements on the Roots Music Report. A talent Paula had for lyric writing that had been sitting dormant for over 40 years suddenly blossomed after Paula convinced Harold to let her write the lyrics first. The lyrics starting flowing: bold, biblically sound lyrics like she had never heard before on radio or in church these days. Her husband is a gifted guitarist, vocalist, and harmonica player and had been creating Christian music prior to their marriage. The Vondensteins would stay up till the wee hours of the morning crafting music together after first praying to the Holy Spirit. Bible Belt Blues' music influence is unmistakably early Mississippi Bentonia blues and their lyrics are bold and biblically sound. Bible Belt Blues has positioned itself in a unique place within the Christian music genre with a sound so fresh with its wailing harmonica and gritty guitar picking seamlessly blended with its full-fledged repentance songs and songs for church revivals. Their music can be streamed on Spotify or available for download purchase at the CD Baby Store. Physical album CDs are available at special events and on their website. The Vondensteins met five years ago on Christmas Day in 2014 after Paula placed an ad in Christian Mingle asking for a Christian musician who would not set limits on what God could accomplish through him. Harold responded and the rest is history.
