Yaffee, a co-star of the Showtime special, Goin' Native, just released his Dry Bar Comedy Special, Mid Laugh Crisis. Clips of his special have been viewed over 3 million times on social media. He has also been heard on SiriusXM and seen on Comics Unleashed and The Latino Laugh Festival. "I'm honored to be a part of Standup Against Suicide" says Yaffee. "I know comedy has helped my battle against depression and I have no doubt it will be a fun and impactful event." Stone, a native of Hawaii, is a regular at the Laugh Factory in Reno and Las Vegas and has also been heard on the nationally syndicated, Bob & Tom Show. Stone describes himself as a comedian who loves to "give fun and have fun." His larger than life personality and onstage stand-up, have made him an audience favorite in clubs and casinos across the country. Local comedy flavor on the show will be provided by Joanna Gosling and Eric Gleason. Gossling's clean comedy earned her a spot as a finalist in Laffy Taffy's "Chief Laugh Officer" contest. As a finalist, Gosling got to perform at the world-famous Hollywood Laugh Factory. Gleason, another mental health professional, brings a wide variety of life experience to the stage, including military service and a doctorate from Arizona State University, University of Oregon's long-time nemesis and perennial football punching bag. Proceeds from Standup Against Suicide show, the brainchild of local mental health professional, Bill Simon, will fund a study in the local community to explore therapeutic approaches to fighting depression and suicide. Simon is also rumored to be making an appearance on stage. The long-time Coos Bay resident, has an original brand of self-deprecating humor that won him loyal fans during his time hosting comedy and performing comedy at the Mill Casino. Local eatery, Shark Bites will be providing food and adult beverages. Doors for the eventy will open at 6pm with the show starting at 7pm.
