KT to drive Global AI Hotel business with MVI

KWUN TONG, Hong Kong - Oct. 21, 2019 - PRLog -- KT (www.kt.com) and MVI (www.mviptv.com) have unveiled the integrated AI hotel platform 'Genie Cube' during MVI's annual Partner Conference in Kuala Lumpur. They also signed a business cooperation agreement to enter the global hotel business with the AI platform.

Genie Cube is an AI platform that is fully integrated with MVI's Hotel IPTV Service providing a variety of functions and services using KT's 'GiGA Genie Hotel' voice AI platform. Using simple voice commands, Genie Cube can switch on lights, adjust sound volume, order amenities, access hotel facility information, switch TV channels and perform check-out. The system can be tailored for every hotel.

Importantly, Genie eliminates the delay issues that occur with cloud-based AI services as it is located on-premise via a small server inside the hotel's data room. It also ensures that sensitive hotel customer information is protected.

Genie Cube is the result of close collaboration between KT and MVI's respective R&D departments after the signing of a business agreement (MOU) in February this year.

Based on the agreement, the two companies will jointly market the platform to existing and future hotel customers.

A first Proof of Concept (PoC) will see the platform deployed at a hotel in the Philippines in November and will cover amenity ordering and concierge services.

The 3^rd annual MVI Partner Sales Conference was attended by MVI Partners from 16 countries in Asia and the Middle East.

"After about a year of development, we are now able to showcase the Genie Cube AI hotel platform on the global market," said Kim Young-woo, a senior vice president who heads the Global Business Development Unit at KT. "We expect KT's AI hotel service to expand into the global market, beginning with the installation of the service in Cebu, the Philippines."
