Fullerton Residents Receive World Kindness Day Honors

FULLERTON, Calif. - Nov. 18, 2019 - PRLog -- Drs Dallas and Debra Stout were honored for National and World Kindness Day with an inaugural, 2019 Kindness Award. Doug Chafee, the Orange County Supervisor for the 4th District, decided to implement The Kindness Awards this year to bring together and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions and impacted their communities through exceptional kindness and community service. His office accepted nominations from the 6 cities his district represents (Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra & Placenta) and an independent panel of judges chose the Stouts as the winners for the City of Fullerton where they have resided for over 25 years.

The Stouts were given the Kindness Award for Fullerton in honor of over 2 decades of volunteer work, donations to local non-profit causes and their pro bono professional services in their community. In bestowing the award, Supervisor Chaffee stated "Kindness is a special human value that brings us all together and connects us despite our differences, backgrounds, experiences or ideologies. The Stouts have committed time, skills and efforts to make a difference. Kindness is one thing we can all practice. It is as simple as extending a smile to a stranger."

Dr. Dallas Stout said he was "a little embarrassed" when he found out that they would be honored with this award because "there are many good people out in the community doing great work". He was "a little unsettled" not knowing who nominated them or what was said in the nomination. However, Dr. Debbie Stout also noted that they were "very humbled to learn the nomination for the award came from someone in their community".

Drs. Dallas and Debra Stout are on the faculty at California State University Fullerton and Ashford University. Dr. Dallas Stout also serves on the online faculty for BYU Idaho. When not teaching, they use their combined background of over 50 years working in the Southern California non-profit, business, education, management and coalition-building environments to assist a variety of non-profit programs in Southern California thru DoctorS Consulting which they co-founded in 2004. Because of their visible commitment and involvement in the fields of troubled youth, violence and gang prevention, the prevention and treatment of substance abuse and homelessness related issues, the Stouts are widely regarded as leaders in these causes.
