MTR Lunar New Year Commemorative Tickets Set Wishing Passengers a Prosperous Year of the Rat

 
Dec. 30, 2019 - PRLog -- As the Year of the Rat is approaching, MTR will launch a limited edition "MTR Lunar New Year Commemorative Tickets Set" from 5 January 2020. Customers using the special edition tickets can enjoy unlimited domestic journeys around town on the MTR network1 on the first day of the Chinese New Year (25 January 2020).

The "MTR Lunar New Year Commemorative Tickets Set" includes two commemorative tickets1, and an elegant ticket holder along with eight red packets for just HK$98. The commemorative tickets feature designs blending masterpieces in ancient Chinese and modern western artistic styles. In a drawing of the Xuande Emperor from the Ming Dynasty, the rat represents good luck and intelligence and is depicted eating a red lychee, which implies "good fortune" and "prosperity", while the rat is portrayed as smart and cute through the eyes of the modern illustrator Giulia Pintus from Northern Italy. In addition, two version of the "Cute Rat" double-layered glasses will be available for sale for HK$80 each on the same day.

The commemorative tickets set and double-layered glasses are available for sale from the start of train service on 5 January 2020 at all MTR, Light Rail Customer Service Centres2 (unpaid area) and online3, for up to two sets per purchase while stocks last.  Online purchasing provides an additional discount3, please visit http://www.mtr.com.hk/en/customer/main/ticket_cny_rat.html for product details. Malfunctioning tickets can be exchanged on 25 January 2020 at any MTR Customer Service Centre (except Airport Express, Hong Kong West Kowloon, Light Rail, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations). Tickets sold are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Remarks:

1 Each ticket is valid for unlimited domestic journeys on the MTR, Light Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus on the first day of the Year of the Rat on 25 January 2020 (except Airport Express, East Rail First Class, High Speed Rail, journeys to or from Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations). Passengers are required to present their tickets for verification when taking the Light Rail. If the ticket is used to travel to Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau in breach of the terms and conditions, the holder is liable to pay the full single journey fare between the station of entry to Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau station.
