Northwest Honda Dealers' $2,500 School Donations Continues with David Douglas High School

PORTLAND, Ore. - Jan. 22, 2020 - PRLog -- The Northwest Honda Dealers Association (NWHDA) has a long-term commitment to supporting local schools and families, and to building bridges in our local community. And as part of its dedication, our NW Honda Dealers family will be awarding another $2,500 this month to a local school of their choice.

Since many districts have been forced to make deep cutbacks to both teaching positions and curriculum, this program will allow schools to purchase needed supplies and equipment, and to fund important school services and courses.

David Douglas High School is this month's recipient of NWHDA's giveaway. Brent Behboodi, general manager of Ron Tonkin Honda, will be presenting the $2,500 check to Principal John Bier on Jan. 27 at 2:50 p.m. at the school's all-faculty meeting.

"At Ron Tonkin Honda, our motto is 'For the Love of Community,' and we've been giving back for more than 30 years as part of our friendly, family-oriented business," said Behboodi. "Now, we are pleased to be able to extend that support to our local David Douglas High School, especially since nearly 70% of its students are economically disadvantaged."

"We are very grateful to receive this award," said Bier. "It's a perfect example of our school motto: 'A place where connections are made.' Because now, with the help of the Northwest Honda Dealers, we will be better able to develop the skills and attitudes necessary to greatly help our students in their career plans after graduation. So, this is very exciting for us!"
