UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Feb. 3, 2020 - PRLog -- Troop Public Relations is proud to announce a partnership with Current Initiatives, a Tampa-based non-profit organization to provide relief to low-income families, the homeless, and homeless veterans.

Troop Public Relations and Current Initiatives will host a Free Laundry Day on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Riverdale Laundromat in Riverdale, Maryland.

The Laundry Project brings renewed hope to thousands of people nationwide by providing the funds and items necessary to wash and dry clothes and linens. Laundry fees are paid for while volunteers assist with laundry services, entertain children and create a caring, connected space at the laundromat.

"We are excited for this partnership and the ability to bring the Laundry Project to Maryland," said Jason Sowell, Executive Director and President of Current Initiatives. "Clean laundry is often an overlooked necessity and we welcome the opportunity to partner with groups and offer access to even more communities."

Founded in 2008, the Laundry Project has assisted low-income families in more than 30 cities across the country by providing laundry detergent, fabric softener and quarters needed to wash and dry clothes and linens. To date, the organization has washed more than 130,000 loads of laundry for approximately 20,000 families in more than 500 laundry service projects nationwide.

"It's empowering to put on fresh, clean clothes," said Pamela Vines, owner of Troop Public Relations. "We're proud to team with Current Initiatives to bring the Laundry Project to Prince George's County. This initiative helps our community and make the world better in an immediate and tangible way."

"People can support the free Laundry Day program in two ways. First, we're seeking volunteers to help facilitate on March 21st. But we're also requesting donations from rolls of quarters to fabric softener," said Vines.
