Follow on Google News | ![]() Hillsborough Artists Celebrate the Work of Composer Billy StrayhornFrom February 24th to March 22nd, the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts presents "It's All About the Story, Volume VIII: Billy Strayhorn" a show of artwork inspired by the words and music of Billy Strayhorn.
The Strayhorn show at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts follows the gallery's tradition of honoring Hillsborough authors and artists during the month of February. Previous shows have been inspired by the work of Hillsborough authors Michael Malone, Jill McCorkle, Lee Smith, Allan Gurganus, John Bemis and Nancy Peacock and the 1868 memoir by Elizabeth Keckly who spent part of her life as an enslaved woman in Hillsborough. A reception for the show will be held at the Gallery from 6-9pm on February 28 during Hillsborough's Last Friday Art Walk.
