Do the Botox trainers need training?

DIDSBURY, U.K. - March 3, 2020 - PRLog -- Instagram is full of potential trainers advertising their services to train students into the world of aesthetic treatments. With some courses lasting only a day we discussed what impact this has on the aesthetics industry.

"Half a day training before coming at someone with a needle and syringe seems hardly a safe, patient centred approach to aesthetic treatment delivery" explains Dr Vik of Dermaskin Clinic in Manchester. He passionately continued, "The trainers are selling potential botox injectors a dream, a dream where they can pay £1500 and have a business up and running and reclaim their costs after the first 10 patients." When asked about how to fix this issue, "Rather than regulating the students who are desperate to find a reputable course to join, it would be far easier to regulate the trainers, to gain insights to their failure rates, recent auditable activity, and overall student satisfaction of training"

It is a big money earner for experienced aestheticians, when questioned about whether they will be offering courses at Dermaskin Manchester, "There is an ethical dilemma after you have taken money from a potential aesthetic student, if they seem unsuitable and you wish to fail them you will always be mindful that they have paid privately and you may have to refund this to them too. I would rather not be faced with such issues and will not be offering training until there is further regulation in this industry."
