CHICAGO & NEW YORK - March 16, 2020 - PRLog -- The Oral Cancer Initiative (OCI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Howard S. Glazer as Chairman of the OCI Dental Advisory Board.

Dr. Howard S.Glazer is a Fellow and Past President of the Academy of General Dentistry, and former Assistant Clinical Professor in Dentistry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Most pertinent to the Oral Cancer Initiative is his participation as a former board member of Oral Health America. This organization was responsible for the fight against oral cancer and tobacco, along with NSTEP (National Spit Tobacco Education Program with Joe Garagiola serving as their spokesperson.) Dr. Glazer is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, American Society for Dental Aesthetics, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry. He is also Attending Dentist at the Englewood Hospital (Englewood, NJ), and the Deputy Chief Forensic Dental Consultant to the office of Chief Medical Examiner, City of New York.

Dr. Glazer has been named as one of the "Leading Clinicians in Continuing Education" by Dentistry Today*. He lectures nationally and internationally on the subjects of dental materials, cosmetic dentistry, oral cancer, and forensic dentistry.

ABOUT THE ORAL CANCER INITIATIVE:

The Oral Cancer Initiative supports oral cancer research. According to DentistryToday*, only 20 to 30% of dentists include oral cancer screenings with a regular exam*. OCI's mission is to ensure all dentists provide oral screenings, to heighten awareness of the growing threat of oral cancer, and to save lives.
