Founded in 1829 Historic Neir's Tavern reverts to its roots operating as a "Speak Easy" This St Patrick's DayBy: Historic Neir's Tavern Historic Neir's Tavern located at 87-48 78th St, Woodhaven, NY 11421 is bringing back Growlers and draft beer to go. Loycent Gordon owner of Neir's Tavern is putting people over profit. "We don't want anyone to lose their jobs during this unprecedented time. I won't be drawing a salary and we are pivoting to work with the new parameters in place." Neir's Tavern is instituting curbside pickup, beginning today at 2pm including corn beef and cabbage Irish soda bread ½ price Guinness to go along with bottled beer or draft pints in 32 oz or 64oz growlers to go. In line with the state now allowing mixed drinks to go we will be offering drinks, such as margaritas, long island iced tea and your favorite classic cocktails on the go. This week only use code word "Speakeasy" and receive a shot on the house. Gordon believes you can't tackle an emergency situation with layers of bureaucracy applying for loans and grants will take time and delay needed cash flow to assist effected businesses. As for more immediate relief, he suggests the city wave the upcoming March 20th sales tax payment to provide much needed cash to keep bars and restaurants operating. While we wait and adjust to this new normal, we invite all New Yorkers to stop by Neir's today grab a pint a bite and a quick celebration. Neir's hours of operation are as follows Monday to Friday 2pm to 9pm and weekends 12pm till 9pm.
