In addition to offering telehealth sessions to both individual and group clients, North Austin Music Therapy is also bringing live music and movement groups to residents of retirement and long-term care communities, leading sessions from outside of buildings, to engage residents in singing, dancing, and music-making while maintaining a safe social distance and respecting community shelter-in-place directives. Outdoor groups started this week and have proven to be a huge success, with residents eager to participate and engage with peers, staff, and with therapists from North Austin Music Therapy.
