LG will donate 200 SIM-equipped smartphones and 40 microwave ovens to various hospitals

DUBAI, UAE - April 4, 2020 - PRLog -- LG Electronics  responds to the digital solidarity appeal launched by the institutions on the occasion of the Covid-19 emergency  through the LG Cares initiative, which will allow the donation of 200 smartphones equipped with SIM and 40 microwave ovens to various hospitals in Italy.

In fact, the company wants to concretely express its proximity to the territory on which it has been operating for over 20 years by supporting those who are experiencing a moment of difficulty and thanking those who, through their work, face this emergency on a daily basis. And it has chosen to do so by making its technology available, in the full belief that this can help even in an emergency.

"LG is a brand that has always put people and their needs at the center of their choices: we want to do it even in this critical situation, placing ourselves alongside all those who in these difficult weeks have been directly or indirectly affected by the virus" says  Sung Soo Kim, President and CEO of LG Electronics Italy. "We think that technology must and can be an essential partner not only in everyday life but also in moments of criticality, helping to make relationships between people easier".

The initiative has a twofold objective: on the one hand, to allow communication and closeness, albeit virtual, between hospitalized patients and their families thanks to smartphones, where possible by promoting communication with loved ones; and on the other offer support to medical and healthcare personnel with microwaves to help them in the few breaks during the grueling shifts of this period.
