NEW YORK - May 8, 2020 - PRLog -- COVID-19 is stealing lives, sanity and dignity, PERIOD! Today, Community Activist Coach Dave Crenshaw  is set to host a food drive to help provide hunger relief for under-served residents of Washington Heights during the COVID-19 pandemic. Local Political Officials including NY State Senator Robert Jackson, District 31;  Councilmember Mark Levin, District 7; Councilmember Ydanis Rodriguez, District 10; and Assemblymember Al Taylor, District 71 will be in attendance to support the efforts.

"I'm glad to join forces with Coach Dave and other community leaders to provide hot meals to front-line workers and their families," said NY State Senator Robert Jackson. We need more efforts like this over the coming months to make sure we all take care of one another. My office is invested in helping to coordinate mutual aid across my senate district and in making sure constituents are connected to community-based organizations like Coach Dave's Uptown Team Dreamers and to each other. In unity there is strength."

During this event, hot meals will be delivered to essential workers and seniors. Neighbors and residents are invited to stop by and grab a hot sandwich or hamburger, courtesy of Gastronome Catering, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Community leaders, and other pillars of the community will also be in attendance to stand in solidarity with residents and those in need. Census forms, safety/protective masks and essential information will be shared at this event.
