By: BostonSight NEEDHAM, Mass. - June 10, 2020 - PRLog -- BostonSight®, a nonprofit eye healthcare organization and research center dedicated to saving sight and improving quality of life for patients across the US, announced today that President & CEO Sara Yost, MBA, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the GP Lens Institute (GPLI). Yost's appointment reinforces BostonSight's industry leadership in education and development of practice-building resources for eye care practitioners.
"I am honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors at GPLI," said Yost. "At BostonSight, we strive to transform the understanding, treatment, and care of complex corneal disease within the global medical community and empower practitioners to elevate the standard of care for patients. As part of GPLI's board, I'm looking forward to further empowering practitioners on the benefits of specialty lenses." GPLI was founded in the fall of 1985 when a small, independent group of practitioners and industry representatives met to discuss the need for gas permeable education. Initially the Institute sponsored GP seminars at several professional meetings. From this modest beginning, the work of the GPLI has grown to include an extensive schools workshop program, monthly online webinars, an array of educational and practice-building materials for practitioners — most of which are online — and a bimonthly newsletter, among its many resources. "We are thrilled to have Sara join the GPLI Board. Her many years of experience in the specialty lens field will help GPLI continue to provide practitioners with the resources they need to benefit from the many advantages of GP (gas permeable) and custom specialty soft contact lenses," said Edward S. Bennett, OD, MSEd, President and Executive Director of GPLI. "It is a privilege to work with her, and with all of our board members at the GP Lens Institute."
