A New Home for Just Our Soldiers' Helpers

SANFORD, Fla. - June 16, 2020 - PRLog -- Just Our Soldiers' Helpers (JOSH), a morale-boosting organization for U.S. service members deployed to combat zones, announced today that it has signed a lease on a storefront in Longwood, Florida that will serve as its new base of operations. The 1,430 square foot facility has been leased to JOSH at a generous rate equivalent to the cost the organization currently pays for its 350 square feet of storage space. A call to Founder Kathy Hewitt's social media followers quickly raised pledges to offset the anticipated additional occupancy costs.

JOSH ships high-quality care packages to U.S. service members, in all branches of the military, to boost morale while they are forward-deployed to remote locations with limited access to post or base exchanges. Since this occurs continuously throughout the year, there is a constant flow of products being purchased, received, prepped, packaged, and shipped. For the past decade these logistical tasks were accomplished across Kathy's home, volunteers' homes, the storage facility, and packing events at the Sanford Moose Lodge and the Disable American Veterans Chapter 30. This new location offers JOSH the opportunity to centralize all of these efforts.

Over the course of the next month, volunteers will prep the facility to make it ready for its first packing event in August. This includes cleaning, painting, and movement of products from homes and the storage facility to the new home located at 706 North US Highway 17 92, Longwood, Florida 32750.
