These programs pair well with mental health and safe driving habits being stressed this month by the NSC. Southern Nevada's WIC offices and their community partners stand ready to assist parents with all their children's needs. Nutrition counselors can advise parents on the proper size, features and costs of child safety seats, as well as how to safely install and remove seats from vehicles. The Southern Nevada Health District is an esteemed community partner that provides creditable and invaluable Public Health and Safety information to WIC Offices and offer parents interactive programs to help them live healthier lifestyles, while another partner, the Nevada Statewide Maternal and Child Health Coalition, offers awareness programs for routine mental health screening and identification and referrals to appropriate community resources. "We want moms and dads to know that we are a one-stop service center for not only their nutritional needs for themselves and their children, but also for their mental health, child subsidy by providing sound ergonomic advice in removing risk factors while they work at home and for developing safe driving habits," Andrea Fleming, Interim President & CEO for the Las Vegas Urban League said. The National Safety Council is the nation's leading nonprofit safety advocate.
