 Humanist Canada and Association humaniste du Québec Hosting Nationwide Essay ContestBy: Humanist Canada OTTAWA, Ontario - June 22, 2020 - PRLog -- Association humaniste du Québec and Humanist Canada representing French and English Canada, respectively, are hosting an essay contest for 2020. The essay contest divides into two parts: English and French. $4,000 for each contest totalling $8,000 for the entire contest. The Humanist Canada Essay Contest Committee selected the theme of "Religion and Humanism in Education" in a Canadian context for this year's contest. We welcome all high school students (age 16 to 19) to submit their strongest ideas, thoughts, and arguments to us.
The humanist orientation of the essay contest gives an opportunity for critical thinking of students about Humanism in relation to the education system in Canadian society. The first prize is $1,000. The second prize is $750. The third prize is $250. The honourable mentions are $50 each. Deadline is September 30th, 2020 at 11:59pm Eastern Time. There are no predefined topics while submissions should exist within the constraints of the aforementioned theme. The bounds of the content should be relevant to the humanist community and its values across Canada. Submissions should be in APA format. "Humanism transcends our self-imposed divisions.
