CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Aug. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- Top Cat II Productions with Producer Walter T. Shaw at its helm, has made it their mission to share the story of the civil rights first undisputed martyrs in an effort to achieve justice and equality in their name. Mr. Shaw has been diligently chronicling the lives and assassinations of the Moore's for years and now joins playwright, John DiDonna, on the production of the screenplay, The Price for Freedom. It will educate and entertain, but most importantly, shed light on the incredible contributions and sacrifices the Moore's made in the name of equal rights for blacks, equal pay for black teachers & the advancement of black voter registration. The screenplay also chronicles the beginnings of the NAACP in Florida, the case of the Groveland Four, and the commencement of the modern Civil Rights Movement.

Producer Walter T. Shaw has been fervent in his efforts and has made it his life's work to see to it that everyone knows their name.  He's ensured this with the release of the book The Bomb Heard Around the World in hardback last year, the recent release of the audiobook & now the virtual play. He also facilitated a partnership with HBCU, Bethune-Cookman University resulting in a prestigious scholarship in their name.

Anita Sayago of EDANA Entertainment states: "It is both an honor and a privilege to be working with Walter T. Shaw on this incredible project. His tenacity and dedication to the Moore's legacy is unwavering."

As Leon W. Russell, Chairman of the NAACP Board of Directors so aptly put it, "This is a particularly important time to explore the life and commitment to civil and human rights lived by Harry T. Moore and his wife Harriette. I consider them to be the first true martyrs of the modern Civil Rights Era. Their assassination by White Supremacists was the result of their work equalizing teacher pay; investigating instances of police misuse of force and abuse of black citizens; and ultimately their efforts to register black voters. All of these efforts were a threat to the white power structure. Though these efforts brought about their murders, their efforts were all ultimately successful for the black community. They fought and they won."
