Astoria Knights FC Returns to UPSL Training for First Time Since Start of COVID-19 National Pandemic

ASTORIA, N.Y. - Aug. 7, 2020 - PRLog -- The Astoria Knights Football Club (UPSL) will host a tryout on Saturday, Aug. 8, meeting as a team for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 national pandemic.

The club, based in Queens, NY, is a member of the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) American Division and features several top amateur players available for the international transfer market.

Astoria Knights FC General Manager Darnell Olivere said, "We are very happy get back to a regular course of living after the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been historic. Over the last five months we have worked diligently behind the scenes to continue to build our club from top to bottom starting with the youth all the way to the Pro Development amateur adult level. We are excited to announce a major focus with an emphasis on creating professional international link for our top amateur players. This process starts with rostered players for Astoria Knights FC in the UPSL, and once a player is in top form our international relationships will kick in."

Astoria Knights FC plays its home games at Aviator Sports and Events Center (3159 Flatbush Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11234) and is scheduled to resume UPSL play starting with the 2020 Fall Season in September. The club joined the UPSL ahead of the 2019 Spring Season.

"The UPSL is the largest amateur league in the United States and a great platform for our players to show that they are in in top form and ready to go to the next level," Olivere said. We will be making several significant announcements over the coming weeks in relation to our new European and Latin American professional affiliation partnerships. We are looking forward to a positive end to the year working with the great players in this community."
