Allen Ellison, CD-17 Democratic Nominee hosts Honorable Judge Arthur Burnett Sr

SARASOTA, Fla. - Aug. 10, 2020 - PRLog -- Allen Ellison, Democratic nominee for Florida's 17th Congressional District, will host special guest, Honorable Judge Arthur Louis Burnett Sr., for the Getting Social with Allen series, Friday August 14, 2020 at 7:00 pm. EST.

Judge Arthur Louis Burnett Sr. comes with great experience as he began his career studying at Howard University, and New York University where he received his Juris Doctorate degree. His accomplishments include, but are not limited to: prosecutor for the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, the first legal advisor for the Metropolitan Police Department, U.S. Magistrates for the District of Columbia and first African American to serve as a Magistrate Judge in the U.S., Assistant General Counsel at the United States Civil Service Commission, advisor to Presidents: John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, William Clinton, and advisor/mentor Barack Obama, and served as DC Superior Courts' Chief Justice.

Currently, Judge Burnett is an adjunct law professor, and works with organizations to address the crisis of drug use and abuse in minority communities and serves as the National Executive Director, National African American Drug Policy Coalition. Throughout his tenure, Judge Burnett has received numerous honors, accolades, and awards from many esteemed global organizations.

In their conversation, Judge Burnett will build a historical perspective that will shed light and connect Allen Ellison's social causes and plans to improve the livelihood and environmental conditions to benefit District 17 constituents.
