LIVONIA, Mich. - Aug. 13, 2020 - PRLog -- Born to a Mexican-American family in a small town in Michigan, Robert E. Hoxie credits his dysfunctional upbringing for his dark sense of humor. His writing focuses on sexuality, addiction, and relationships set in rural middle America often exploring a dark, ironic, humorous side of the human condition.

"I see the modern age of dating as heavily flawed but also a revolution of how we express our sexuality," says Hoxie. "I wanted to show the good and the bad. The writing of Girls I Know was me coming to terms with the rather lonely and confusing, but intoxicating world, of the hook up culture."

Twenty-three-year-old Francis King is dumped by the last girl he thinks he'll ever love. Heartbroken and alone, he finds himself thrust into the digital age of dating and a single life he's never known: a world of hook up culture riddled with noncommittal relationships. With determination to find happiness, and a new sexual drive, Francis discovers the mystery and magic of the female sex.

Girls I Know will appeal to fans of Henry Miller, Charles Bukowski, and Anaïs Nin and provides an evocative and updated exploration of feminism, sex, and the hook up culture.

Advance Praise

"A graphic exploration of the modern hook-up culture as seen through the eyes of Francis, a twenty-three-year-old misfit. Girls I Know was right up my alley." —Wendy Wright, NetGalley Reviewer

"…you could call [it] a strenuous search for real love. However, I'd call it a[n] homage to womanhood. And a rather good one, too. Written in the good old tradition of Henry Miller and Charles Bukowski." —LibraryThing Early Reviewers
