Follow on Google News | Gregory Blair Wins 'Best Actor' at the Imaginarium Convention Film Festival!"Beasts of the Field" tells the story of self-proclaimed cryptozoologist Lester Denton (Blair) and his wannabe television producer partner, Clarissa (Amber Dawn Fox), who lead a motley crew into dangerous woods to search for a legendary creature. Lester gets in over his head as treacherous terrain, wild animals, torrential rains, and the crumbling sanity of his partner threaten the lives of the crew. What begins as a light-hearted adventure turns to a brutal horror film of survival. "I'm honored to have the film blessed with these awards," Blair said. "Chase worked a long time getting the project to happen; preproduction included an unusual amount of setbacks, recasting and rewriting. Then, when the production finally got it on its feet, the location was hit by a hurricane. It's a testament to perseverance that the film got made at all and these awards echo that. It doesn't just take a village, it takes a village that never gives up. If that isn't the spirit of independent filmmaking, I don't know what is." Blair acknowledged the support of his fellow actors, which also include Tory L. Beckham, Savannah Schafer, Keith Nicholson, Patrick Alred, and Ashley Mary Nunes who round out the cast as the crew that finds much more than they bargained for, leading to terror, chaos and death. "These actors were with me in the mud and the cold every slippery inch of the way, ever supportive and professional. My hat is off to all of them." "Beasts of the Field" will continue its festival run through the end of the year, with more screenings to be announced.
