New Art Show Opens In Marfa- October 2020

MARFA, Texas - Sept. 30, 2020 - PRLog -- Opening October 9th, 2020, artist, LéAna Clifton will be showing the latest evolution of her work at the VELDT Gallery on North Highland Ave. in Marfa, TX.

During the extended isolation of 2020 LeAna has been hard at work honing her technique, carefully combining various media with the goal of capturing color, light and time in immersive, abstract images. Her combination of these various media has evolved to a level to where it's hard to define where one media ends and another begins.

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a portion of this show's sales will benefit METAvivor.org, an organization that funds research into metastatic breast cancer, a somewhat overlooked yet vital area of cancer research. This research benefits all areas of breast cancer treatment including early detection. LéAna and VELDT raised over $5000 for this organization in 2019.

They award research grants to individuals with a clinical or other doctoral degree who are actively engaged in areas of metastatic breast cancer research, and whose proposals show distinct promise in making a difference for the stage 4 breast cancer community. About LéAna Clifton:
LéAna Clifton is a Texas based artist with a passion for large fields of color punctuated by bold line work. For the past decade she has focused on creating mixed-media, abstract artwork combining traditional art techniques with modern media, such as photography. In this new collection she achieves a soft, painterly effect by layering with various media. Finished works are typically mixed-media originals on paper.
