Easterseals Oregon's Walk With Me Goes Virtual – A Walk to Support People With Disabilities

PORTLAND, Ore. - Oct. 12, 2020 - PRLog -- Portland, OR: Easterseals Oregon has announced its plan to host a virtual "Walk With Me" fundraiser after having to cancel most of their annual fundraising events this year, including their popular Bloomfest event. Walk with Me Oregon 2020 is a virtual fundraiser that participants can do on their own time to support the work of Easterseals Oregon.

Every walk is a lifeline of funds that enables Easterseals Oregon to continue providing vital services and support to people with disabilities and their families and other disenfranchised Oregonians. These critical programs support both children and adults with disabilities and include sending kids to summer camp where activities are designed to be inclusive; providing job development and coaching services to individuals with disabilities who have language and/or literacy barriers; helping Veterans find housing and employment; and assisting low-income seniors with skills training and job leads. "We are proud to serve over 2,500 individuals and their families throughout Oregon," said Carol Salter, President/CEO of Easterseals Oregon. "Without the ability to host our annual fundraising events this year, our inaugural Walk With Me virtual event is critical for raising the funds we need. The 2020 Walk With Me event is scheduled to take place between October 24-31, 2020. Participants can register at https://eastersealswalk.org/Register.asp. A $45 fee helps cover some of the event costs and includes an event t-shirt and printable race bib, along with the opportunity to win one of six amazing prizes for the most miles walked and the most funds raised. Two of these prizes include a two-night stay at an oceanfront vacation home on the Oregon Coast, courtesy of Oregon Beach Vacations; and a Reserve Tour and Tasting for eight at Willamette Valley Vineyards in Turner, Oregon. Participants can join or create their own fundraising team and walk anytime during the event period; all are encouraged to share their experience and their reason for participating on social media with the hashtag "#WalkWithMeOR."
