Million+ Tons of Radioactive Water from Fukushima to be Poured into the Sea

"The World's Most Active Time Bomb" at Fukushima is Getting Worse by the Minute

NEW YORK - Nov. 6, 2020 - PRLog -- The Fukushima nuclear disaster keeps on worsening.

Way back in March 2011, the nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan, unleashed the largest amount of radioactive material ever discharged into the ocean in recorded history. The disaster keeps on getting worse with about 150-300 tons of water a day still being used to cool the melted reactors and stored in enormous tanks. Now Japan announced it is running out of places to store this radioactive water.

Author of the book "Fukushima 311," Col. Walter T. Richmond, is sounding the alarm, yet again. At a recent event, Richmond stated, "Japan has just decided it will have to start to dump a million tons of this radioactive water into the ocean. If that seems like a new disaster in the making, it is!"

Based on his research, Richmond noted he found that "Every day, citizen-scientists in Japan are taking readings and discovering unsafe radioactive levels all over the Fukushima region and far beyond. At the same time, thyroid cancer levels have spiked. Yet no one is raising any major alarms. Why is that?"

Although apologists have explained the high thyroid cancer rates as a result of doctors "aggressively" looking for thyroid cancer, the author thinks there is far more to the story. "Blaming high thyroid cancer rates on aggressive examinations and downplaying the radioactive connection is scary" said Richmond.

Richmond continued, "We raised the alarm when the Olympics was headed to Japan because of the radioactivity. And now the Japanese government is going to release more than a million tons of radioactive water into the ocean? Who thinks that is a safe and good idea? Who would volunteer to swim in that ocean? Or eat fish caught in it? Japan says it will 'filter' the water but I don't trust that plan at all. The alarm bell should be deafening by now."

When asked when the Fukushima disaster will start to settle down, Richmond answered, "Not any time soon. It's been almost a decade and there is no end in sight. People talk about climate change but have done and said nothing about this nuclear time bomb that is continuing to change the health of our people and world. I detailed much of this in my book, Fukushima 311, yet there is virtually no real media attention. The ambivalence is scary to say the least."
