VMA Announces 2020 Manufacturing Award Recipients

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Dec. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- Jayne Fifer, President & CEO of VMA, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 VMA awards for Kindness, Green, Innovation, Manufacturer of the Year, Manufacturers Hall of Fame "Manny" Awards, Pivot and Women in Manufacturing. The awards banquet was held Thursday, December 4^th at 12:00p.m. live on VMA's website.

"Although we would have enjoyed getting together like we normally do each year, we wanted to keep everyone safe and went virtual for our awards banquet," said Jayne Fifer, VMA President/CEO. "We were inspired by the kindness we've seen from some of our manufacturers during the COVID pandemic and added new awards this year including the Kindness Award, recognizing companies for showing kindness during the pandemic," Jayne added.

The award recipients are as follows:

·       Kindness Award: ABB Installation Products, Copper Bottom Distillery, and Germfree Laboratories, Inc. This new award recognizes companies for going above and beyond showing kindness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

·       Green Award: B. Braun. This award is presented to the company with practices and policies that show sustainability and environmental leadership.

·       Innovation Award: Sparton Corporation. This award recognizes the Volusia and Flagler counties and Central Florida organizations and people who bring new ideas to life. Whether that idea is big or small, these ideas change the way we experience the world.

·       Manufacturer of the Year: Sparton Corporation. This award is presented to the Volusia and Flagler counties and Central Florida manufacturers that have demonstrated outstanding performance in all areas of manufacturing.

·       Manufacturers Hall of Fame "Manny" Awards: Robert Stockman, American Radionics Richard Stockman, American Radionics. This Award is presented to individuals for life-long achievement in manufacturing in Volusia and Flagler Counties.

·       Pivot Award: Bob's Space Racers, Fit USA Manufacturing, GoKlean Products, and S & B Metals. This award recognizes the Volusia and Flagler counties and Central Florida organizations that were able to pivot and save their companies when the pandemic hit.

·       Women In Manufacturing Awards: Barbara Bonarrigo - CJ Manufacturing & Engineering, Alyson Medeiros - Edgewell Personal Care, Jessica Miller - Germfree, Shelia Smith – Germfree, Brenda Boone – Raydon, Melissa Bentley – Sparton, Thelma Clinton – Sparton, Sandra Cordes – Sparton, Kathy Moon – Sparton, Erika Nicholls – Sparton, Donna Skipper -Sparton, and Tara Verdinez - Sparton. This award recognizes individual women in manufacturing who have demonstrated excellence in their careers and represent all levels of manufacturing from the factory floor to the C-suite.
