San Francisco~Dallas Media Advisory NOLA's "Royal Family of Funk" Batiste Fathers and Sons of the New Millennium at BB King's Blues Club with Grammy Award- winning Latin artists: Jose Conde, Jorge Moreno, Xperimento, Itawe and Jamaica's Sizzla for "Operacion Asentamientos Humanos" Christmas MASKerade Disaster Relief Concert & Fundraiser tonight, Friday, December 18th 7 p.m.-12 a.m. Central Standard Time. Who: Artists: Latin award winning artists Jose Conde, Jorge Moreno, Itawe, Xperimento, Sizzla of Jamaica and NOLA's Jamal Batiste, Damon Batiste, and organizers: Charles Sharp of the Black Managers Emergency Association (BEMA); Sergio Arturo Cabrera of Mambo Mundo; and Damon Batiste of New Orleans South Africa Connection (NOSACONN, Inc.). What: A "FREE" 5-hour Virtual and In-Person Disaster Relief Concert and Fundraiser launching "Operacion Asentamientos Humanos." The in-person audience will be socially distanced along with performers of the Christmas MASK-erade Disaster Relief Fundraiser, with emphasis on "MASK." When: TONIGHT, Friday, December 18th, 7 p.m. until 12 a.m. CST Where: BB Kings Blues Club, 1104 Decatur Street, New Orleans, Louisiana Why: During the 2020 hurricane season, two "level 4" hurricanes, "Eta & Iota," struck the Caribbean and Central America causing extensive loss of life, destruction of livestock, homes and the devastation of economies. The storms exacerbated the struggle of the survivors as the result of the global Covid-19 pandemic that began March 2020. Although media attention has waned, the humanitarian crisis remains for the survivors. https://www.facebook.com/ Receiving news of the continuing crisis from residents of Honduras, Nicaragua and Jamaica, The Black Emergency Managers Association International (BEMA) teamed up with Mambo Mundo and New Orleans South Africa Connection (NOSACONN) to organize "Operacion Asentamientos Humanos" in less than 30 days. The partnership has resulted in an on-going disaster preparedness and relief campaign. It has kicked off with OAH Christmas Maskerade Disaster Relief Concert & Fundraiser.
