AFROSUNIDOS to Conduct a Seminar Discussing Scholarship Opportunities for Colombians to Study Abroad

MEDELLÍN, Colombia - Feb. 13, 2021 - PRLog -- AfrosUnidos, an initiative seeking to change narratives and build communities that unite the African Diaspora in areas of finance, service, culture, and education will be hosting a special event highlighting opportunities of higher education available abroad.

With several of the members of AfroUnidos having received the prestigious humanitarian service scholarships and fellowships, respectively known as the Chevening Fellowship and Fulbright Scholarship, there are no greater resources to provide first hand knowledge of the processes and requirements necessary to ensure success.

The awarding of these scholarships and fellowships to AfrosUnidos members is indicative of the success these members, and AfrosUnidos more broadly, have had in fulfilling its organizational mission and vision.

The Fulbright Program was established in the United States in 1946 and aims to strengthen understanding and communication by funding a variety of educational exchanges between the United States and host countries worldwide, including Colombia. The Chevening Fellowship, which will also be discussed during the program, is a scholarship given to outstanding professionals from around the world to pursue a one-year master's degree in any field at any university in the United Kingdom.

The beauty of these educational opportunities, are that they are fully funded scholarships, leaving the recipients free to focus on achieving their academic goals and enjoying a lifetime of experience. "Thanks to Chevening, UK's global scholarship program, I managed to study for a Master's degree in Advanced Computer Science at Cardiff University," remarked Ruben Murillo, a recent recipient of the Chevening Fellowship. "I enjoyed and immersed myself in the UK culture, as well as created long-lasting relationships with people from all around the world, and was left better prepared to impact my organization and community."
