Originating in Louisiana, Tonique Clay founded the succulent seafood eatery in Baton Rouge in 2017. After her success at the BR location, Clay took the original recipes she created and Louisiana-based restaurant chain to Houston, Texas, in November of 2018 with a colossal grand-opening and the City of Houston declaring 11/18th Krab Queenz Day in the city. Tonique went on to expand to other cities such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Jackson.

Since opening its doors and becoming a staple fixture in culture, Krab Queenz has had the pleasure of feeding Cardi B, Tyler Perry, Usher, and many more.

The southern eatery CEO has decided to bring the original Krab Queenz back to Baton Rouge on April 3, 2021. The location will be a much larger space located off college drive by interstate 10, with a live DJ every weekend and over-the-top daiquiris.
