CWB Optimum Mortgage named best mortgage employer

EDMONTON, Alberta - May 6, 2021 - PRLog -- Edmonton-headquartered CWB Optimum Mortgage has been recognized in Canadian Mortgage Professional's Best Mortgage Employers report. This prestigious list spotlights the best places to work in Canada's mortgage industry – as chosen by the employees themselves.

Competing against mortgage companies nationwide, CWB Optimum achieved a high score of 88.69% in the 101 to 500 employees category to secure their position as a Best Mortgage Employer.

"As the COVID-19 pandemic pushed brokers out of the office and into a remote working model, virtual meetings and conference calls took the place of lunchroom chats and in-person meetings. The traditional brick-and-mortar image of a workplace was replaced by a virtual arrangement that caused a variety of new challenges and opportunities to emerge," says the CMP team. "But even with the disruption of the pandemic, some things didn't change, including the expectations employees had of their employers. For this year's Best Mortgage Employers survey, mortgage professionals from across Canada cast their votes on how their organizations measured up on a number of key indicators – and the results suggest that the country's top 42 mortgage employers have maintained an admirable level of dedication and commitment to their staff, despite the travails of the past year."

CWB Optimum Mortgage Vice-President Rejean Roberge believes the company's reputation as a firmly 'people first' organization shone through over the past year. Amid the challenges of the shift to remote work and the end of nearly all face-to-face interactions, Roberge says the camaraderie and compassion of the CWB Optimum team came to the fore to swiftly help employees adjust to working from home – while providing one another with constant support and attention.

"We saw those values [people first] reflected in our team's resiliency and dedication over the past year," Roberge says.
