Yuan, Zoom CEO/Founder, with Reach the World's Cronkite AwardBy: Reach the World Classrooms across the United States will join in a celebration event on Zoom to nominate Mr. Yuan to receive Reach the World's 2021 Cronkite Award. Valentina Potts of Lincoln Elementary in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, will present her essay nomination to Mr. Yuan. Valentina is joined by three other students from Kentucky and New York who will present their work to Mr. Yuan. Valentina wrote, "On March 16th my story changed. No longer was I able to go to school and play with my friends, but that wasn't all. I also couldn't compete in my final basketball game of the season, or practice soccer with my team like I used to. Zoom changed all of this! My story continued because of Zoom! Although I could only see my friends in small boxes on my computer screen, we continued to work and play together. Mr. Yuan helped the stories of our world live on, so if you ask me I totally think Mr. Yuan deserves this award!" Reach the World was honored to include Mr. Walter Cronkite as the Chairman of its Advisory Board until his death in 2009. As one of the world's most esteemed journalists, Mr. Cronkite had a profound impact on the field of communications.
