Liz Cheney And The New McCarthyism

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - May 25, 2021 - PRLog -- My dear Republican comrades,

When a conservative Christian like Liz Cheney gets stripped of her leadership position for faithfully bearing allegiance to her oath of office to defend the Constitution, I am compelled to respond.

I have tried to walk away and switch off from politics, and political art, but to no avail, as recently writing my book rekindled in me the duty that I have as a Christian and an American to speak.

We are in dark times, as the shadow of Trump looms large over the minds of Republican leadership. Kevin McCarthy has crossed a line that has released a spell over the Republican Party.  I tried to walk away from the Republican Party, but that did not work either as I would deny myself as I would rather fight.

What a strange turn of events these past 5 months have been. I am not surprised as the dark side of Trump was always part of the picture, but at the time the upside far outweighed it. I had hoped for a leader like David but turns out we got a Saul.

I am disappointed and angry that McCarthy and McConnell had the chance to shut this madness down, but chose not to. To my liberal friends, some of your darkest warnings and depictions of Donald Trump's dark side were true, and now we are reckoning with them. And truth be told, what seemed to be in jest at the time, like Trump claiming that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose followers, turned out to not be a joke but a sinister reality on the depths of Trump's grip on the minds of his followers and his complete disregard for the law.

I must play my part in helping others move on past Trump.  It is another wilderness in which I find myself again.  The truth always comes with a price!
