By: MHRCET As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, more individuals than ever are isolated and struggling with untreated mental health diagnoses. When asked about the upcoming conference, Devon Toonen, President & CEO of MHRCET stated, "We're providing parents and caregivers an insight into the challenges many face when seeking mental health services for a child or loved one. We want to educate individuals and families so they're prepared when faced with a challenging situation and need immediate assistance." MHRCET is excited to announce the names of two incredibly accomplished mental health advocates speaking at the conference. Jurline Redeaux, MSW and retired Supervising Children's Social Worker, worked as a child welfare advocate in Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) for over 18 years. She is a cancer survivor, author, and CEO. Angela Westbrock is the VP of Global Operations for Lyft. She serves on MHRCET Advisory Board and shares her experiences as a caregiver navigating the complex mental healthcare system. Both of these women bring immense passion, professional knowledge, and lived experiences to the conversation. Mental Health Awareness Month is a national movement aiming to provide education while reducing stigma. MHRCET welcomes individuals to learn more about mental health and how to overcome obstacles when trying to navigate the mental healthcare system.
