By: IntegraCare The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 19 at the community located at 824 Lisburn Road in Camp Hill. Activities will be held both indoors and outdoors. Social-distancing will be encouraged as The Woods shows its support of The Longest Day for the Alzheimer's Association. The Woods provides independent living, assisted living and memory care. "I'm excited to bring residents, family members, loved ones, and prospective new residents together to raise money and awareness for an amazing cause," said Jesse Weidman, The Woods at Cedar Run Executive Operations Officer. "It's a special cause to all of us at The Woods because of the residents we serve, and the impact we have on their daily lives." The Longest Day annually is held on the day of the summer solstice – the day of the most light. This year, that date is June 20. The Longest Day honors those living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers. Participants traditionally hold fund-raisers as part of the observance. "The Longest Day is a great cause and it means a great deal to our team," said Weidman. "Our event will be held a day early, but still will be in the spirit of The Longest Day." Masks will not be required at the outdoor portion of the event, but masks and screenings will be necessary to enter the community. Music, food and carnival-themed games will be a part of the afternoon. Participants in the carnival and open house are asked to RSVP to 717.737.3373 or email tkieffer@integracare.com. "We anticipate this being a fun and truly meaningful event for our residents, their families and those who would like to visit and tour our community," Weidman said. "In the course of almost two months of planning and preparation, all the department managers have dedicated time and effort to organize and communicate with sponsors to help make it successful. "Our hope would be to make a significant contribution to The Longest Day campaign and Alzheimer's awareness," Weidman said. "Plus, we are excited to hold our first event open to the public in over a year. It will be a great opportunity to see and feel what The Woods has to offer." Visit https://www.integracare.com/ End
