Can economic emancipation emerge from political emancipation?

Nigeria: Agitators of tribal exits are either troublemakers or un-educated

DALLAS - June 20, 2021 - PRLog -- The agitation for the peaceful exit of tribal groups from the Federation of Nigeria continues a crescendo. There are reports of violence that complicate the picture. However, that more tribes continue to emerge requesting to leave the country as currently constituted is undeniable. The volume is getting loud, yet there are gaps in understanding to be filled. The gaps in knowledge of how countries emerge out of existing ones create an entire spectrum of intellectual challenges. Hence, Adtools Concepts brings leaders of thought to the table to shed light on the requirements, review the possibility and potentials for tribal groups to peacefully exit from the Federation of Nigeria.

General Mohammadu Buhari has confirmed that his government lacks the ability to meet the demands for improved employment and security within the country. He describes agitators for peaceful exits from the country as uneducated troublemakers that will must relent or will be resisted with military force. Democracy Day celebrations on June 12, 2021 took a different dimension as the theme moved from celebrating the life of Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, the symbol of the current Nigerian democratic process to who died in government custody to cries for independence from feudal lords by various tribes. Echoing the cries from Biafra, the Yoruba people and another from the Middle Belt held rallies in Nigeria and the Diaspora to amplify their demands for exiting the Lord Luggard Amalgamation enforced with Fulani-dominated government apparatus.

Entrenched political leadership seem to agree with the government's position. However, restive youths continue to complain of disenfranchisement as their political parties continue to meet with roadblocks from the Independent Electoral Commission that refuses to register them for participation in the 2023 electoral process in progress. The legislature appears poised to suspend its constitution amendment hearings that may have been an alternative for a democratic change of the current oligarchic administration. Tensions are rife in the air.

'YorExit: Sense and Nonsense – The Intellectuality of a Peaceful Tribal Exit' brings professional, young graduates, diplomats, and academics from various fields to review possibility of economic emancipation from political emancipation as posed by the agitators for self-determination for their various tribes. It is an interactive discussion program that encourages Nigerian citizens to contribute to the discussion in a civil environment.
