TORONTO - June 25, 2021 - PRLog -- When is the Canadian Border Opening to Snowbirds?

The first phase of Canada's approach to easing border measures for snowbirds will begin on July 5, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. EDT, for all vaccinated snowbirds who are eligible to enter Canada under the current travel restrictions. [This phase will continue to restrict entry to Canada of foreign nationals, unless they already meet an exemption set out in the border restrictions, maintains pre- and on arrival testing for all travelers, and monitors for variants of concern.]

Declaring vaccination status

Any fully vaccinated snowbird who wants to be considered for the exemption from quarantine and reduced testing requirements will be required to provide evidence of their vaccination status by uploading supporting English or French documentation (or a certified translation), into the ArriveCAN app or by signing in online at Canada.ca/ArriveCAN before arriving in Canada.

What is ArriveCAN?

All Canadian snowbirds entering Canada by air and land, unless exempt, must submit their information into ArriveCAN within 72 hours before arrival to Canada, including:
  • travel and contact information;
  • quarantine plan;
  • vaccination information;
  • COVID-19 symptom self-assessment.

Any fully vaccinated snowbird who wishes to be considered for the exemption from quarantine and reduced testing requirements must meet all criteria, including the electronic submission of their vaccination documentation into ArriveCAN prior to arrival in Canada.
