SF Bay Area-based Bacchus Wine & Spirits Named 2021 Top 100 Retailer for Third Year in a Row

MILLBRAE, Calif. - June 29, 2021 - PRLog -- Bacchus Wine & Spirits, a specialty full-service retail merchant of fine wines and spirits located in the San Francisco Bay Area, announced today that it has once again been selected as a Top 100 Retailer for the third year in a row by Beverage Dynamics. This award recognizes retailers throughout the country who demonstrate innovation, excellent customer service and superior beverage alcohol industry knowledge.

Bacchus Proprietor Quinton Jay accepted the award presented by the Beverage Alcohol Retailers conference, which held its formal awards gala recently in Austin, Texas.

"During the COVID crisis, Bacchus successfully pivoted from a storefront to an e-commerce platform and was able to grow online sales and keep everyone fully employed, thanks to overwhelming support from the community," said Quinton Jay of Bacchus Wine & Spirits. "In 2019, we did 200 orders online—in 2020, we did over 3,000 orders online!  We also built out Curb-Side Pickup Programs and delivered members' wine club selections so our customers and those most vulnerable would not be exposed.  And perhaps not too surprising given the circumstances, membership in our whiskey club grew by 50% last year, becoming one of our most popular clubs!"

Bacchus attracts a large local and national following due to its hand-selected wines and the fact that it carries the Bay Area's largest selection of whiskeys, including hard-to-find Pappy Van Winkle and Yamazaki 25. Regular wine and whiskey in-person tastings are starting again, along with epicurean events ranging from private or corporate parties to multi-course dining experiences such as Wagyu 101, and the popular Truffle & Mushroom dinner.
