Point Loma Summer Concerts Announces the Rocking the Point Jr

SAN DIEGO - June 29, 2021 - PRLog -- Point Loma Summer Concerts is launching Rocking the Point Jr., a virtual concert highlighting local Junior Bands and supporting music education. The bands hail from the Point Loma/Ocean Beach area, and have members who are  18 years of age and under.

The performance will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 6 pm PST and streamed on the Point Loma Summer Concerts' social media pages and website. The bands will perform at Rock and Roll San Diego, who will also stream the performance on their social networks.

Rocking the Point Jr. will also be a fundraiser to support music education in Point Loma schools and programs. There will be raffle prizes that viewers can participate in by donating or voting for their favorite bands. Votes are $5/each for any of the bands in the competition.

"We wanted to give our junior bands the opportunity to headline our show, and have them share the excitement with their families, friends, and summer concerts fans from the community and beyond. "

About the Point Loma Summer Concerts

Since 2001, Point Loma Summer Concerts has been bringing family-friendly concerts to Point Loma Park, with crowds swelling to nearly 3,000. Their mission is to support music education in the schools. Each year, the Board of Directors allocates proceeds from raffle ticket sales to local schools and music-related nonprofits.
