Bringing History to Life covered West's journey from the corporate world to the art market, his interests in art history, and his aspirations to help other artists. Mark West is a visual artist, art historian, and art dealer. Mark West paints exclusively with Blackface as Blackface was directly inspired by African art that predates Christianity. In fact, Blackface has existed since 3000 BC. The original form of Blackface was used to depict people from Africa and was and is commonly used to depict famous ancestors such as Oshun and Shango. West typically paints images of Black Gods and Deities and important scenes throughout global Black history. West's love of art and culture led him to open the Mark West Center for the Arts, also known as House of Mark West in NYC in 2018.
