The Lotus House Gets a new State of the Art Studio

MIAMI - July 22, 2021 - PRLog -- m2e Consulting Engineers recognizes Antuan Hernandez Cardet, PE, Camilo Martinez, PE, and Ray Vera, for volunteering their time and skills to make this happen for the Lotus House.

Miami, FL, June 2021: In January 2021, m2e learned that Lotus House Women's Shelter wanted to create a studio that would be used to launch a new podcast. Lotus House is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the status of women, youth and children experiencing homelessness. They provide a sanctuary with deep therapeutic supports to heal and enriched resources to reclaim lives marked by violence, poverty, and discrimination, so that they may blossom into who they are meant to be. This studio was intended to amplify the voices of sheltered guests by sharing their stories and exploring solutions to end homelessness in our community. M2e could not ignore this passion project.

The project began by meeting with Lotus House to discuss the project's mechanical, architectural, and electrical components. The design utilized the footprint of the existing heat treatment room and called for the existing equipment to be relocated. Antuan Hernandez Cardet, Engineering Director; Ray Vera; and Camilo Martinez, demolition, and construction for the new studio. This work included overseeing the electrical and HVAC components, in addition to quality assurance on the project. These three men dedicated their time and expertise to ensure the new studio was fully functioning and safe for its future occupants while successfully staying within budget.

Antuan commented, "We are always trying to help; it's a great experience giving back to the community." Once each year, m2e has a team-building event with the entire organization volunteering at Lotus House. Each time we volunteer, the assigned tasks may vary slightly, but the passion behind the service does not waiver. We love this organization and what it stands for. We are honored to be of assistance.
