Follow on Google News | Point Loma Summer Concert's Fall Back Funk Forward Concert Coming to Point Loma on October 2By: Point Loma Summer Concerts Full Strength Funk is a high-energy dance band that covers classic '70s funk like Stevie Wonder and Parliament while seamlessly transitioning to old school hip hop like Salt N' Peppa and Tone Loc, horn-driven bands like Earth, Wind & Fire and Tower of Power, and stars of today like Bruno Mars and Beyonce. They'll bring the groove while the audience busts a move. This will be Point Loma Summer Concert's first official in-person event post pandemic. The event will be held at the Point Loma Park at 1049 Catalina Ave. and kick off at 2pm PST. For the safety of everyone in attendance, the Fall Back Funk Forward event will not feature any food vendors or a raffle. "Many of the fans have reached out to us during the past year and a half and told us how much they have missed the summer concerts," said Point Loma Summer Concerts president Kerri De Rosier. "We hope this concert will allow us all to reconnect and heal in light of what all of us in the Point Loma/Ocean Beach community have had to endure during this COVID-19 pandemic." The event will be opened by The Kids Next Door, who participated in Point Loma Summer Concert's Junior Band virtual concert, Rocking the Point, and garnered the most votes. During the event, viewers were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite band while donating to the event. The band with the most votes was offered the opportunity to open for our next in-person event.
