Local Couple Launches Home Helpers Home Care Franchise in Fremont and Union City

FREMONT, Calif. - Aug. 23, 2021 - PRLog -- The COVID-19 pandemic changed the world – and those of us living in it – in many ways. For Amby Nair & Vishakha Salunkhe, it meant taking the time to reflect on their careers and thinking about the legacy they wanted to leave behind. "Caring for a loved one can be a struggle and it's OK to need help, even for just a few hours a week. We've both had loved ones who were diagnosed with cancer and we saw how difficult it was for our families to provide the kind of care they needed. That helped us realize, if that's something our families struggled with, we couldn't be alone. When we decided to open our own business, we were drawn to Home Helpers Home Care to help families like ours," Nair said.

They were both born in India and moved to the United States more than 20 years ago. They've lived in California for more than a decade but, before that, they lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lynchburg, Virginia, and then Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They have a daughter, Trisha Nair, who plans to go into the medical field.

"The pandemic gave us an opportunity to reflect on our lives, the work we were doing and the impact we were making on the world. Through that process, we started to ask ourselves, 'What's the point? What's our why? What are we actually doing other than just going to work?' This franchise gives us an opportunity to make a difference and to improve the lives of people here in our community," Nair said.
