'Deeply Superficial' Premiers at Victory International Film Festival

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Aug. 31, 2021 - PRLog -- Keith Allen West,  University of Evansville Alum premiered his comedy 'Deeply Superficial' at the Victory International Film Festival.

"My time at the University of Evansville greatly influenced my goals to work in the film and television industry," West  said.

"Evansville is where I came out as a freshman and started the first school approved group for LGBTQ+ students.  My first semester as an R.A. included many threats of death, physical harm and hundreds of harassing phone calls. I stayed true to my passion and worked in Residence Life  helping may other students struggling with their sexuality. It led to my work as a civil rights advocate working for marriage equality with the Tri-State Alliance  in Indiana and nationally with the Human Rights Campaign"

"Deeply Superficial" is a half-hour filmed comedy series that chronicles a gay entrepreneur, played by West, who is deep in the turmoil of his midlife crisis.  Loved & supported by his diverse and wildly inappropriate friends and family, Keith finds his search for a healthy, productive life an hysterical team sport.

With throwback comedic timing to "Seinfeld" and "Friends" mixed with the contemporary shooting style of "Modern Family", the show presents an honest look at a middle-aged, gay, divorced man's life.

"My goal was to write, produce, and cast more comedic series in New Mexico," said West, "From the inception of "Deeply Superficial", it was really important to me to hire a female director and I knew my acting coach was the one to do it!"

An accomplished director, Michelle Tomlinson has received rave reviews.  A professional Acting Teacher and Coach, Tomlinson has several students who regularly book roles in Television, Feature Films, and Commercials. Tomlinson has a new short in post production as well as a documentary feature currently in principal photography.

West, a member of SAG-AFTRA, is a "Best Actor Award" winner on the festival circuit. He portrays dynamic, complex and authentic characters in feature films, TV shows and commercials.
