Virtual meetings have produced increased participation during the pandemic and providing interpreters at your meetings ensures all constituents can participate! Learn how to include media and collateral material in language, and how Q&A works when you have interpreters. Hear how you can spearhead access to your content to non-English speakers and people with disabilities. "We started showing clients how to have inclusive online meetings before the pandemic," says Carla Itzkowich, President of International Contact, Inc. "but since SIP, there is a lot more interest and the platforms are evolving all the time, so it is definitely a full-time job to keep up with the technology." International Contact is a Berkeley-based, 39-year-old minority, woman-owned company that was able to increase its business during Covid. They provide translation and interpretation in over 100 languages and helped various agencies communicate during recent emergencies. International Contact offers training to assist clients' staff to host the multilingual meetings and is proud of the creative solutions it has been a part of in trying to include people with limited English proficiency. The company created a Language host position to ensure the multilingual events go off without a hitch! They look forward to sharing their insights with you at Zoomtopia.
