Follow on Google News | Bosco Tech Student Commended by National Merit Scholarship ProgramThe semi-finalists represent less than 1 percent of all high-school seniors in the U.S. According to a press release from the National Merit Scholarship Program, about 95 percent of the semi-finalists will be named as finalists for the scholarship. Of those finalists, about half will win a scholarship. Kumar, who is in Bosco Tech's Computer Science & Electrical Engineering program, recently completed a summer internship at The Boeing Company. Co-founder of the Tech's Techmen Tutoring peer program and ASB senior class and National Honor Society president, he also recently earned the Harvard Prize Book, an award given by the alumni of Harvard University to top-performing juniors and seniors in nearly 2,000 high schools from around the world. "We're incredibly proud of Aman and his achievement," The only Catholic applied science high school of its kind in the U.S., Bosco Tech uniquely combines a rigorous college-preparatory program with STEM-based studies. The innovative approach allows students to exceed university admissions requirements while completing extensive integrated coursework in one of six technology and engineering fields, including the newest program, Biological, Medical and Environmental Technology. Bosco Tech has a college acceptance rate of 100 percent, with the majority of graduates pursuing STEM-related post-secondary majors.
