ICON team member, Dave "Koz" Kozlowski, honored for 50 years of service by USPTA

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - Oct. 4, 2021 - PRLog -- ICON management team member,  The Lake Club Director of Racquet Sports Dave "Koz" Kozlowski was honored by The United States Professional Tennis Association at its World Conference in Las Vegas on September 22, 2021. Koz was honored for his 50 years of service and contribution to the tennis industry and game.

Kozlowski was the inaugural Director of Tennis at Laurel Oak Country Club with Touring professional former world number ranked one Monica Seles, nine-Slam singles winner.

He is currently the Director of Racquet Sport at the ICON-managed, The Lake Club at Lakewood Ranch.

One of the first seventeen Master USPTA professionals in the world has been lecturing at national and international conventions for the past three decades.  Kozlowski is the creator of two instructional tennis videos:  "Master Your Tennis Motor Memory" and "Fundamentally Sound Tennis".  In September of 2001, he was named the USPTA National Pro of the Year.  "Koz" was also named the 1999 USTA Broadcaster of the Year.

In November of 2003, he was one of seven American journalists selected by the USTA to go to Moscow to cover the Federation Cup Final-Four. He is the executive producer and host of "Inside Tennis with the "Koz" which aired for six years on The Tennis Channel as one of the network's "Original Series" and later on SNNT

He was the first American broadcaster to interview Maria Sharapova, 2019 US Open Bianca Anreescu, 2021 US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez & Andy Roddick and has done anchor and play-by-play for The Sunshine/Connolly Continental Cup, The Owl Foundation (Venus vs. Serena Williams), The Eddie Herr Internationals, USTA Men's and Women's Challengers and The USPTA International Championships.

He is the original coach of former WTA players Carling Bassett (former # 5 WTA) and Shawn Stafford (former top 50 WTA).  He has trained over 135 D-I level college players.  He has guided his three children (Davidson, Kimberly, and Carolyn Virginia) who have achieved tournament success nationally and internationally at the junior, college and professional level.

World Tennis Magazine recognized him as "A consummate professional with credentials and an ideal temperament" and cited his tennis programs as "one of the finest family tennis programs in any American tennis destination."
